About Taggart People
I'm Mark Taggart, and I help leaders navigate the moments that matter most.
After 25 years in senior talent and leadership roles - including VP positions reporting to Chief People Officers in FTSE 100 companies - I know what it's like to sit in the rooms where these decisions get made. I understand the politics, the pressure, and what it really takes to lead in complex organisations.
But I also know what it's like to feel stuck. To be successful on paper but burned out and disconnected from what matters. To be the person everyone turns to for answers while struggling with your own next step.
In 2024, I left the corporate world to reconnect with my purpose: helping leaders and organisations solve the problems that keep them trapped.
What I bring:
I've held senior talent and leadership roles across telecommunications, retail (automotive and luxury fashion), technology, professional services, and global distribution. I've worked with organisations from FTSE 100 companies to scaling businesses, and with everyone from aspiring line managers to C-suite executives.
I've designed leadership development programmes, built talent strategies, facilitated difficult team conversations, and coached leaders through career transitions and the messiness of stepping into bigger roles.
I'm not here to give you off-the-shelf solutions. I work shoulder to shoulder with clients to solve their specific challenges - whether that's an executive navigating a career crossroads, an HR leader building leadership capability, or a dysfunctional team that needs honest conversations about what's really happening.
Credentials:
I'm an ICF Accredited Coach, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and a Hogan Certified practitioner. I'm also an enthusiastic follower of Transactional Analysis.
I hold a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts from the University of Birmingham - which turns out to be surprisingly relevant when working with people navigating complex human dynamics!

Beyond work:
When I'm not helping individuals and organisations get unstuck, you'll find me at music gigs and theatre, or outdoors cycling, running, and occasionally swimming.
My biggest passion is cycling. It’s not just a hobby - it's where many of my leadership insights come from. The peloton offers some of the clearest lessons about what it takes to lead under pressure: knowing when to attack and when to conserve energy, understanding the difference between leading from the front and supporting from within, and recognising that individual brilliance means nothing without trust and coordination.
Whether it's watching how team leaders navigate the chaos of a crosswind split or understanding why domestiques are often the most valuable riders on a team, these aren't forced metaphors - they're genuine insights that map directly onto the challenges my clients face. You'll notice these lessons woven throughout my work.
